I ran across this link the other day at, of all places, ALTPhotos.
For those that use the stuff, there’s this little sadness:
Polaroid film was a technological breakthrough in the world of photography.
In late 2008, Polaroid Co. plans to entire discontinue their line of remaining polaroid films (Type 600 and Spectra are among the popular used labels).
This is a classic, time-and-tried art form. Don’t let them stop manufacturing it!
Dunno if a petition keeps a corporate entity from doing what it thinks will keep it in the game, but I suppose anything’s worth a go. I mean, I signed it.
Whether any of this matters is another issue. Have a look at this. By the tone of the article, it kinda seems like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and it may not be an oncoming train.
