Peeking Out.

peek.jpg

I was looking for some other negs and came across this. It’s a few years old. I think when I did it I didn’t like it. When I was scanning, the lines of it kinda worked for me. *shrug* It’s probably nothing.

Here’s another from the same day.

What’s interesting about the images is how some distance from them — I only now remember what the day I shot them was like and where I was — gives them a different feel. I was feeling out my ideas on what would look good and poor Jim was stuck being my model. Beyond that, I was experimenting with the exposure of the film I now use as a matter of course. I suppose the short version is that these were practice. I can look back on these now and see that while I wasn’t thrilled with them at the time, and am not completely even now, they do sorta show that I was on my way somewhere.

It makes me wanna hold on to all of the film I shoot now in hopes that there’ll be something more intriguing than I remember from the shoot.
